Cyan advances in Chinese market

Cyan Holdings has struck a strategic deal to be the wireless controls partner for Shanghai Yaming Lighting, a long established lighting company that claims to be the largest manufacturer of Street Lighting sold in China.

Yaming has already purchased two sets of Cyan's CyLux controllers, the first for a pilot installation being used as a demo for municipality officials, the second to enable the entire assembly to be put through accelerated life tests and meet Yaming quality standards.

These products are scheduled to commence production shipments in February 2012.

Kenn Lamb, CEO of Cyan, said he believes the hard-fought partnership positions the company well for future growth in the Chinese street lighting market.

"Yaming is likely to be awarded a significant portion of future EMC's and, as such, we look forward to Yaming winning large contracts for its wireless lighting control product," said Lamb.

"Yaming's selection of Cyan is expected to have a positive influence on other companies seeking a wireless lighting control solution."

Cyan's share price rose 16.5 per cent to 0.53p a share.
