Blinkx, the world's largest video search engine and Autonomy spinout, has signed a deal with the Israeli startup AnyClip, whose stated mission is to help users find any moment in any film.

Right now the AnyClip database holds 12,000 films, a nice addition to blinkx which has indexed more than 35 million hours of audio and video content, searchable using patented technologies that "see and listen" to videos on the web for improved search results.

Working with film and television studios including Warner Brothers and Universal, AnyClip's tagging technologies extract and index more than 5,000 individual pieces of metadata from a single feature-length film, meaning users can search for content via, for example, snippets of dialogue, actors and props.
