Wikipedia founder, Jimmy Wales, to speak in Cambridge
The event on 8 September, marks another milestone for Cambridge's largest technology network, which is in the process of being reinvigorated by new chief executive, Clarie Ruskin.
Cambridge Network's new job site, the Recruitment Gateway, launched earlier this month and a complete renovation of the entire site is expected to come in later this year.
Wikipedia is one of the world's 10 most popular web sites with around 90,000 contributors, and 19 million articles (yes, a Wikipedia sourced reference).
The high profile Wales will now give the lecture programme a major profile boost and further involvement is expected to come from Hermann Hauser and Neil Davidson of Red Gate.
Speaking recently to Cabume, Ruskin said the network was getting a push from the established entrepreneurs as well as a lift from the new wave of entrepreneurs.
"We're starting with a big programme introduced by Hermann Hauser of lectures coming through this autumn and winter where people can come and hear from Hermann and others as well as bringing in people like Neil Davidson, the next generation of people coming through."
Jimmy Wales will be speaking at the Mill Lane lecture rooms on Thursday 8 September. Details here: http://www.cambridgenetwork.co.uk/events/article/default.aspx?objid=84944
